The Court-Mandated Labours of Piper Phelps holds the unique title as the first official Holiday Rhode Pictures short film.

We decided to kick off our initial production in a challenging way - by writing, shooting, and editing it in just two days. Initially produced as our entry into the 2024 Boston 48 Hour Film Festival, The Court-Mandated Labours of Piper Phelps, is a true product of creative passion and on-the-fly filmmaking.

In preparation for writing we were given a handful of mandates: the script needed to feature an Olympian, include a toothbrush, and have the line “Keep it to yourself.” With that we spun our ideas into an absurd comedy following the titular Piper Phelps as she takes on Olympic-style trials all in the name of getting the local library to sign her community service forms.
