Break-In Smackdown

The second Holiday Rhode Pictures project filmed in 2024, Break-In Smackdown marked a number of firsts for us as a team.

After taking a five year long break from directing in order to focus on honing his craft, our co-founder, Rashmi Hauser, found himself itching to get back behind the camera. Pulling double-duty, Rashmi wrote and directed Break-In Smackdown, pulling from one of his key inspirations, It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, to craft a comedy of two painfully incompetent thieves who unknowingly break into the house of a retired professional wrestler.

Shot over the course of three days, Break-In Smackdown marked our first collaboration with our long-time director of photography, Jesse Liguori. Jesse’s penchant for handheld-style shooting helped imbue a unique chaotic energy to the film, crescendoing in a comedic-fight captured in a wild oner.
